No kidding, eh?  We need someone to lead a news revolution like Seligman is leading the psychology revolution,  don't you think?  ~my two cents.

The world is in a very dark place these days….. keep turning on the light.

Thus the reason I subscribe to this……. to focus and give energy to the “high” rather than the “low” energies. When people come to understand that simply by bringing attention to the “darkness” through their thoughts, words and visions, they are in fact perpetuating it in the world…. and as more and more of this gets around (and it''s happening FAST) they will be seeking quality, high-vibrational media and reading.

That's where I see Zaadz blogs and such being so impactful. I find it imperative for Zaadzsters to understand the Law of Attraction and to write about that which is in fact already changing the world so that others can read and focus on solutions rather than problems. From that place, we might be able to offer our own “happy news” depot.

People are hungry for scandals, sensation, cruelty - look what kind of movies america is doing?  isn't that sick? I think future generations will disregard, disrespect us, becasue we make such movies , find pleasure in hunting, wearing furs, ( - I mean : not all of us :) - and how do I know that future generations will be better - becasue I strongly believe that world is undergoing a change -  for the better.

Perhaps it's time that the 'secret' was no longer a secret and made available for free to all

For me, watching The Secret did end up ultimately being for free, considering all the abundance that followed as a result. My $5.00 investment has created over a 100,000% return. I am certain I would not still own my home, were it not for watching The Secret two weeks prior.

I would venture to say that the producers might agree with you that the film could be offered for free, but to do so would in fact discount the message that they are sharing. When you watch it you will realize that it is not necessary to offer for free because EVERYONE in fact has access to unlimited wealth. $5 is a drop in the grander scale of abundance. Also, what is gained by the consciousness of “purchasing as ticket” I feel to be a very important part of the “abundance model” message involved in the Law of Attraction that the film is teaching. ie: As we give out, we also get back.

Now having said that, possibly there would be a way to offer it to people “in trade” for something that they value if they do not have the cash on hand. Thus, they are in fact creating that energetic exchange. I do appreciate that you got me thinking about this. I agree with you that the potential of getting it to everyone is certainly worth finding a way to do so.

I'm curious, were you told not to tell anyone the ingredients to the 'secret'? I am also curious as to why it needs to be a secret at all, or, is this part of the marketing ploy to get people to part with their 5 dollars (Is that Australian, US or Canadian?).

FUnny, in view of Brian's original post, the good stuff is a 'secret' yet all the negative, destructive and hateful information is absolutely free and endless in supply. Not unlike teachers, health care workers, social workers receiving very little pay for their work, while musicians, athletes and entertainers receive obscene amounts of money for spreading hatred and fear in the world (I know, not all of them….).

Time to shift the paradigm eh what?

I feel you Bruce. Things do seem quite a$$-backwards.

I feel The Secret to be one of those genuine forms of enlightened capitalism that Brian speaks of frequently. I don't feel that “the good stuff” is kept a secret, just that the current general population doesn't find it as “fantastical” and exciting as the drama. Many are addicted to the drama simply because that is all they have come to know…. they are stuck in a dark cloud so-to-speak. Doesn't make it right….just what is.

That is why I feel movies like The Secret to be so important. They are marketing to the general population a message in an attractive medium that will help shift the consciousness in a more positive direction. Were they to say to the world, “we have a free movie that tells you how to obtain unlimited abundance”, I have to question how many of the general population would truly listen or take it seriously. In the current state of affairs, I think it is wise to “market” in order to get attention from the general public. It is what they are accustomed to. And it can be done in an ethical and integrous way. Gradually we can get away from that, but now there are baby steps of transition that are important and necessary.

In regards to The Secret, I was not told to keep anything “secret” nor is that any part of the message. They have brought it to the public so in fact it is no longer a secret. They are saying that the message has “been a secret” (thus the title) for a long time because those that shared thier understanding of the concept in the past faced such scorn and disbelief for going public….ie: noone believed them anyways because it was too “woo-woo” and hard to fathom….. plus it ran counter to religious and cultural beliefs and thus no one wanted to listen because they didn't want to admit change needed to take place. I find it very brave and edgy for this group to produce such a message even in this day and age. It is still a bit ahead of the mainstream thinking. But bravo to them for being the torch bearers.

For a free version of what they are talking about it can be learned by reading The Science of Getting Rich. I personally find the movie to be a much more fabulous presentation because….. well…. I like movies…..and the cast and content is much more understandable and complete than the book was for me. It is educational entertainment, and I feel it was a bargain, in light of the price of movies these days. I haven't heard too many people complaining that they had to pay $9.00 to go see V For Vendetta. Although I haven't watched it yet, I hear it has a powerful message as well.

I agree it is time to shift the paradigm….. in a BIG way. To me, The Secret is one way to go about it. When people see ”musicians, athletes and entertainers receive obscene amounts of money for spreading” good in the world, others might take to talking about and spreading the positive rather than the negative. Case in point, Ellen, Bono, Tiger Woods, etc. To me, The Secret should get a BOATLOAD of money so that others might be encouraged to follow in their footsteps.  

I just ordered the DVD.  That way I can see it more than once and share with family and friends.  Thanks for all the wonderful info!

Okay, here's a story. But don't hate me when I'm done.

I was in the newspaper business for 17 years. I worked
for a major chain as an editor with responsibility for
a lot of special project coverage. The career life span
of a journalist (when I was doing it) was about 10
years – we always thought it was because you worked
all the time.

But I really think it was because the negativity just
eats at you day-in, day-out until you can't take it
anymore.

It did me. I was mad all the time. I read my own
newspaper and had the same reaction Brian did, WTF!

So, I finally quit. Not because I had some higher
calling in mind, but because I thought I could make
more money on my own. But I never subscribed to a
newspaper again – and that's almost 20 years ago. And
I don't watch the news. If something big happens, I
find out about it. But otherwise, it's just garbage.

But I still had lessons to learn.

After I left the paper, I started an editorial stock
photo agency. Back then, we averaged $225 per picture
sale for magazine or textbook usage. Not bad, but not
great – advertising would average about $600.

But then I stumbled onto some exclusive pictures of
Marla Maples – Donald Trump's flame, later wife, then
ex. They were the only pictures available of her at the
time and we sold them all over world for $70,000 –
that's four zeros! I couldn't believe it.

We subtitled our agency, “Where the girls are easy!”

Then I stumbled on some high school shots of Julia
Roberts – sold those for about $20k. These were
snapshots! Astounded again.

But then I started getting calls from tabloids in South
Africa, Brazil, Germany – everywhere – wanting to
know what else I had. Who did we have compromising
pictures of next?

I felt like crap. I'd become the worst kind of
editorial agent – a PHOTO PIMP!

We stopped selling those pictures and concentrated on
legitimate and less lucrative stuff.

That was the beginning of my conscience, I think.
Hopefully, I won't lose it ever again. I write about my

I’m not even going to answer, but thanks for bringing the question to the forefront of my awareness. Now….. the Secret… I am going to watch it. I feel slightly bad for not watching it yet, but I am going to watch it within the next few days if not this morning (I woke up a 12 AM.. so it’s kind of afternoonish for me right now).

What neat discussions. I read every comment. Shelly can always be counted on to hold nothing back.

I hardly ever watch the news anymore because it's so depressing.  I listen to NPR for  the headlines, along with checking them out on my Yahoo page, but TV and newspaper reports are too disheartening (and this comes from a journalism school graduate). 

I also have found such blatant skewing of information by almost every media source that the truth is pretty hard to discern anyway (you should hear what my long-term Chinese houseguest tells me about what he considers to be the truth because it's on the news). I do peruse the Sunday New YorkTimes each week and follow up on the information I can stomach, but that's about it.  
 
I would rather concentrate on “being the change I wish to see in the world” – it is more empowering and doesn't suck the life and spirit out of me the way the “news” can.   I guess “news” has become a four-letter word to me!

David, who could “hate” a person with such honesty? I so admire you for standing in your truth and choosing to make the world a better place by sharing your story and offering solutions. It takes such courage and conviction to expose yourself that way. I see that it will make others feel safe to do the same and go about rewriting their lives too. Many blessings to you in your work.

I noticed when we first started mentioning these even “whackier concepts” ie, letting the Universe handle a lot of it, you weren't exactly endeared to it.It's nice to see you softening to it and realising its potential - WHICH IS ABSOLUTELY PHENOMENALLY ENORMOUS!, if I didn't mention that already.

you'll see that he talks about how he hates these false teachers who tell you just to sit and imagine without doing anything.He's also one of the featured teachers on the film 'The Secret': Secret Teachers.
Which just illustrates that this isn't just about sitting around and deliberately doing nothing and making 'mountains of gold' appear before you.

If it was, then Wolfy wouldn't have even been interested in 'The Secret.'

It's a fine line and can be misunderstood if one isn't willing to study it and pay attention, and it's why I don't particuarly envy people who teach this stuff.But I'm blessed that they do!

While we are posting wacky ideas I’ll add one here….I don’t believe they are wacky at all, the parking space was just a quick opportunity for the Universe to show you that you’re right where you belong. The following paragraph on conscious creation was channeled by me on Sep 9th ‘05 by a fellow traveler named Sam.
